鄧尼斯·狄德羅致索菲·福朗
鄧尼斯·狄德羅（1713—1784），法國啟蒙思想家、哲學家、無神論者、文學家。狄德羅出生於法國的朗格爾，童年時曾在教會學校接受教育；19歲時獲得巴黎大學文學碩士學位。因為他不願按照父親的要求學醫或法律，父親停止了對他的資助，他只好自謀生路。在此期間，狄德羅廣泛接觸社會，磨鍊了自己的意志。1743年，他認識了盧梭。1745年，他應出版商之邀，開始主持編纂《百科全書》，並以《百科全書》的編寫和出版為中心，掀起了法國啟蒙運動的高潮。狄德羅對法國、英國、德國的作家和思想家都有過很大的影響。
